WBC Donation


Urgent help needed for WBC donation for Manish.

Requirements

  • 1. Blood group does not matter.
  • 2. Should not have travelled to India in last one year. This rule DOES NOT apply to people of Indian Orgin.
  • 3. Persons with diabetes is excluded.
  • 4. Persons with Blood pressure/Cholesterol under control is ok. Weight should be over 110 pounds and above 18 years of age.
  • 5. The screening can be done only in MD Anderson and hence person will have to be at Houston or travel to houston. They are not accepting screening done in Austin.
  • 6. MD Anderson hospital will screen and accept the person as donor.

    • Steps for WBC donation

    • Day 1: Visit MD Anderson hospital in Houston,Tx and they will take blood sample for screening.
    • Day 2: MD Anderson hospital will confirm the donor based on results of day 1 and give a shot.
    • Day 3: Visit MD Anderson cancer hospital and donate WBC thru blood donation process and they will extract WBC.


      • Please call up your contacts in Houston urgently and check if they can help. It will take 72 hours before Manish can get WBC.
